Out of all the sites I have designed, this is by far the worst looking. My customer told me EXACTLY how they wanted the homepage laid out, so I did it. I would like to get feedback on the design so that I can let my customer know what other designers think of the layout. Also, let me know what you think of the product detail page. Hopefully the internal design and functionality can make up for the header and footer.

I think the layout and design are just fine. Pink and brown though? I would get rid of the stripes and change out the brown.

It isn't that bad. The logo doesn't stand out very much, but it's OK.

Tell the client to refine the photos. At least the large one on the homepage needs more contrast, although it isn't a very good photo in the first place. Kids should be photographed from their eye level and not from above, it makes them look subjected. Also the background is too bald, like she is standing in a dungeon.

Then there's this (http://starlets.tarikstuff.com/prodimages/On-Board-Baby--Baby-Carrier.jpg) image from the Baby Gear page — That's not a baby, it's either a dead corpse or a plastic doll. They should even try to put their subjects more into life.

You as a designer need to consult your client about these kind of things, because you are responsible for their web presence. Anyway, the other two photos on the homepage are great.

By the way, the logo header should always be a link back to the homepage.

Also about the Clothing pages.

They're broken down into too many categories. The products are behind too many clicks (3). But if you really have to keep that structure, make the navigation more interesting with descriptive photos to click on. The same idea has been used on Neiman Marcus (http://www.neimanmarcus.com/), for instance — there are also certain product highlights shown on each page.

Thanks for your input. I do not have any control over their photos, layout or the navigation of their site because this client will not take any of my advise. That's why i wanted to get input from others so that it is not just me telling them what to do. I have never had a customer that did not take my advice, so this is very frustrating. They also did not want the header link on their site.

Here are some examples of other sites that I have designed. (http://www.acs-digital.com/portfolio-web.asp)
