I have recently stepped into a position within company as the project engineer. The person I am replacing had created an Access pages web system on another domain (NT server) and not the main server that the company uses (2000 Professional). This system uses Access databases to obtain data from PLCs around the facility. These web pages no longer work from the company server. They only work when accessing them from the domain where they are contained. The IT guys here feel that it has something to do with the company’s upgrade to 2000 Pro. and that there is a problem with the Microsoft office extensions. I do not know where to begin. I can get the collected data directly from the database housed on the domain from the company server, but the WebPages don’t work from the company server. I have read a lot about Dreamweaver and ColdFusion. I am just about to purchase these software packages to see if I can use these tools to extract the data from the databases to the company’s network. I have some experience, but this will be my first attempt at a web design. I am somewhat familiar with HTML, JavaScript, Java, C++, SQL, and Visual Basic 6; therefore, I feel that I should be able to accomplish the task with a nudge in the right direction. Any help is appreciated.

If this means the person before you uses some type of CMS, probably the first step is to ask him/her what brand of CMS he or she used.

I don't think you really need to purchase those WYSIWYG programs like Dreamweaver, GoLive, Front Page and many others if you really know HTML. at the end of the day those programs are HTML editors which edits html.

Your problem probabaly only something to do with the Content Management System your company using.
sorry I'm not much help, hopefully others do
