So, I am pretty new to websites. Using microsoft publisher and godaddy.com, I managed to publish a weak Whoisamy.org. The problem is that everytime you go to the site, it appears, then is pushed to the right by a godaddy advertisement. The godaddy tech people can't help me and I don't know what to do. Does anyone have any ideas?

Can you post a link to the site? The one time I've used godaddy (for www.paramountfire.com), nothing like that happened.

The reason these ads are shown is because you are on some sort of free hosting plan with godady. i have veiwed your page source at the very bottom there is a forced javascript, which is forcing those ads to be shown, as you will see on your site is says "This page is hosted free, courtesy of GoDaddy.comŽ"
Hope this helps!

You'll have to ftp to it. You should have gotten the details in the godaddy emails you got when you bought hosting.

Sorry about this post. I didn't see your link in the first post you said.

I have no idea what I'm doing in terms of website design, but I did manage to create and upload a simple Publisher site - it would load for about 1/2 a second, then the GoDaddy ad would display on the page, nothing else. I called their tech support and got a lame "it must be your browser" answer. Then I found your post about adding <noscript> to the end of the code, and miracle of miracles, it worked! Thank you so much for providing actual assistance for GoDaddy's product. I so appreciate it.:)

I know this problem is originally an older one, but the problem continues to occur, and I thought I'd share the answer in case anyone else bumps up against it. Hopefully my two hours on GoDaddy technical support will pay for itself by saving a bunch of other people.

Apparently there is coding in MS Publisher 2003 and 2007 that interferes with the GoDaddy coding for ad banners. When you load the MS Publisher Index files and index.html, they seem to load fine, but then the website errors out and gets pushed all the way off to the right so you have to scroll to see it. This only occurs in Internet Explorer - not in FireFox.

If you ask GoDaddy technical support about this, they will tell you that "technical support does not support scripting." Unless you are REALLY tenacious, you won't get past that pat answer.

Here's what you do. The next instruction requires a little html coding, but THIS IS REALLYT EASY, and if you can read this posting, you can do this yourself.

1. Publish your MS Publisher website to a folder on your computer.
2. Open the file named INDEX.HTM, either with a text editor (like the Microsoft's Notebook) or an HTML editor.
3. Look for a line that reads <head> This is called the "head tag," and there may be more than one of them. Look for the very last head tag.
4. Insert a line after the last head tag, and insert a paragraph tag, which looks like this <p>
5. Save and close the file
6. FTP the index.htm file back to your godaddy remote server.

This will work almost every single time to solve this specific problem. Good luck!

I am trying to build a website WickedGoodOutdoors.com
using MS Publisher 2007 and Posted on Godayy.

It is pushed over on the right and Godaddy tech support is useless.

How do I see that HTML stuff on Publisher? Cant fiind any way to see it?
