activate/deactivate links

Can any body help me how to deactivate/activate a link?

eg:

<a href="viewlink">view</a> <a href="hidelink">hide</a>

when I click on view, it should become deactivated, and when I click on the hide, hide should deactivate and view shud activate.

Which link? What do you mean by activate/deactivate?

Suppose there are two links : view and Hide

1)once "view" is clicked it should deactivate , meaning there shud not be underline and not clickable again.

2) when the hide is clicked , hide shud deactivate and "view" should activate again.

pls help.

But next time when you click view, both will be deactivate... or? I am a little bit confused... Can you tell us better what in fact you need? Can you detail a little bit, please? It is easy to be done, in theory, but if u tell us more about your project, maybe we could do it better.
