you can better position the menus, and make them a bit bigger,
It should take efforts to find the menus.
the design is good, but try to reduce size of graphics.

What menus? Are they in Flash or something? Because all i see is text, images, and 2 broken windows where I assume the flash should be.

I agree that you should put a little more emphasis on the menu but layout and style work very well for the type of site. I'd like to see more content, but I'm sure that will come with development.

I'm not a coder... hence, I am here with all of you to learn. So nothing to say there.

Design - Very stark, and really needs a little juice to liven things up a bit, unless the client is completely in love with this I would suggest a little more color, life, feel hard to describe, check these links out.

I like the flash navigation on the left, but this would probably have been better had it been created with animated gif's, to avoid users having to download/install flash software to see the menu.
I am glad though that you included standard text links at the bottom of the page - just in case users don't have flash installed.

Perhaps have some flashy-image-thing going on with the banner at the top - some sort of loop effect, to keep the user 'entranced'...

Still, the style of the site seems to correspond with the content/genre of the site (and the subject of the site)
