Here's a couple of places I could see some improvment:

1. You should be careful on the top articles front pages, you're mixing google adsense ads and articles together. The layout of all three of the top articles look like google ads and would most likely be completely ignored by a visitor. I would strongly recommend that you keep any ads separate from your content and reformating your top articles so they don't look like ads.

2. Put your search box on the top of your page. People don't like to look for it. This is a great article on where people look for things on a site

3. Pull some of the stuff off of your right side. The calendar with recent updates(you have an rss feed and what's new section for that purpose), google search(if they're gonna search google, they'll go to google), and download firefox(If they're interested in this type of website, they'll already know how to get firefox) sections aren't really necessary and just add length to the page.

I do like the layout though and the site is very easy to read. It looks great in a text browser and there's no html errors. Just my couple of cents.

Thank you for spending time looking at improvements for our site,
1. Very good suggestion we are working towards correcting that change, just a bit slow at mo.
2. Yes up and running, thanks for the advice.
3. For the right side of the website we have set up stats to monitor traffic, we are just checking how well used they are, so we are still playing about at the mo, but thanks for the advice anyway.
