hi all i have made this website for my girlfriend and tell me what you think of it :)

Whoo, at least you used divs.
Anyway.. I'm guessing you have a height on the content div coz the content does not scale the box any bigger when it overflows. Get rid of that.
The title image is pixelated. Sort that out too.
You seem to have put random </td> tags in there instead of </a> tags. What's that all about? And use margin-right to seperate the menu items.

And you doctype is wrong...
it should be...

And then sort out these errors:

Its very plain and not very clean looking.

You need to sort out overlapping eg: "thankyou for reading" before you fix your html errors

And web counters will be the death of me, please please dont use webcounters. Its a crime agaisnt any webdesigner and the internet as a whole, they're vile and repulsive and not needed for public viewing whatsoever (also it looks out of place on your page).

Apart from that its ok, if it does the job properly then re-designs can always be done in the future for freshness or improvements, good luck.

Ok, you ask for feedback, yet you haven't correct anything I suggested. I think maybe you coudl start there?
And you could put a webcounter so it only shows on a hidden page or something.

To hide the counter, without deleting it:

Change "hidden" to "inline" or "block" when you want to see the results.

Another way is to change the text color to that of the background. Have her highlight the text (as if she were copying it to paste into another document), and the numbers will show in the highlight.

You should use paragraph marks [<p></p>] for your text, rather than the break [<br/>] marks. These will also break up those dense walls of text.

Exactly KDLA, i remember a recent thread actually about a hidden php counter?! (mmm just trying to think) but william how i monitor my traffic is through my domain provider. Your host or domain provider should provide you with these stats, well the better ones anyway but if not I think KDLA's suggestion of making it the same colour as the background is good, many users wont highlight a page but something very simple that your girlfriend can do upon visiting and its one of the easiest ways.

PS: Hope she appreciates all the work your putting in, keep plugging away at it! :)

The chapter pages are horrible. No one can read more than 5 words of that. It may be a browser problem (I'm on Firefox) but that's one monstrous wall of text you have there. Unless your girlfriend is compulsive-obsessive or a retard, you definitely should fix that before showing it to her.

Also, change the Times New Roman to Georgia and the text will be a bit more readable.

And yes, the header is pixelated but other than that it's pretty nice design.
