The navigation menu is virtually unreadable on my screen: it needs a lot more contrast between text and background colors.

The flash-based logo is kind of neat, but to my mind is a waste of the user's time. I wasn't timing it, but it must have taken close to 10 seconds to download on my DSL connection. I don't know much about Flash, but if there's some option to optimize the animation, sacrificing quality for decreased file size, it might well be worth trying. And on Firefox, which does not have the Flash plug-in on my PC, there's just an ugly "download the plug-in" box where your logo should be. It would be nice to see if you can display a static image there if the user does not have the plug-in installed.

Okay, I LOVE the lighhouse on the header. It's original.

As for the contrast between the links and the background, forgive me for being rude, but arrghgghg, my eyes hurt. Change the font-color to black, or maybe brown, something that doesn't turn my retinas into slaves to your website.

There's a nice website where you can find out if the contrast between backgrounds and fonts is good enough for everyone's vision, even for those poor souls who happen to be color blinded:
