Hey ppl,

I have decided to learn Actionscript - i usually go for the Sams guides, but i thought i would check with people who already have resources.

So what is the most recommended book?

Cheers

i hope someone replies fast. I have a similar question. A free e-book will also do for me.

I've seen quite a few free ebooks on actionscripting online in quite a few places.

I'm not gonna give the url though incase it's against forum rules (although I haven't yet checked....)

I don't think it is against the rules, as v keep giving links to each other thru the forum.

There's loads of great sites - just type flash actionscript tutorials into google.

I hope I'm not going against the rules but these are good for tutorials -

www.ultrashock.com
www.gotoandlearn.com
www.actionscript.org
www.flashkit.com

As a starter. Also as far as books go you could do a lot worse than the Friends of Ed series of books. he Actionscript bible is great too. Can't remember the urls, just google it.

Hope that helps

Opps forgot to mention - I have nothing to do with these sites at all - just found them useful

I am not a flash pro, but everything I know about it, I learned at http://www.flashkit.com/ (agian, I am not affiliated with the site neither), they have tons of tutorials that will get you started.

I've been coding for 10+ years, and have owned 2 programming books, one was a gift, and one was required for a class, I think that there are enough free sites on the internet that you really don't need to pay for the knowledge, but I guess some people do learn better that way...
