The goal was to create a personal blog type of a website where I can post my mini reviews of music, games and other products, as well as rant and rave on various subjects.

The website was done by me and should be fully XHTML and CSS 2.0 compatible(let me know if I missed anything). I have been using flat files(wanted to brush up on my regex skills) to store all content up until recently, but have finally completed the transition to MySQL on the back-end last week.

I'm always looking for ideas on how to improve it further, so feel free to share your opinions. All constructive criticism is welcome! Please don't mind the content, try to concentrate on the site's design alone.

Call me suspicious, but haven't you shamelessly pinched those wallpapers from http://www.vladstudio.com ?

Yeah, I think I have two from that site(which I am a paid subscriber of). However, I have modified them a little, so I thought it'd be ok to list them on my website. No?

This is about the design of the website however, so please keep it at that.

Not according to Vlad's Terms of Use, I don't think.

It doesn't mention modifying them, then calling them your own. His terms indicate that they are works, distributed and granted permission "in whole." It's up to you, though, what you do. I was just trying to help; I've done heavy research into copyright law, and serve as an online copyright consultant for our agency.

Good Luck -

If you had read it then you would have noticed that says: 'You may use Vladstudio.com files in your non-commercial works as long as you provide a link to vladstudio.com and give me a credit.'

You're also defending yourself by saying that you have modified them - as far as I can see, all you've done is taken the logo off.

Ok, I have spoken to Vlad and I removed the images. Can we please get back on topic now? :)

Is this done with Word Press? Looks nice, but could stand an image or two. I like the color combinations.

All of the website is hand coded from scratch(minus gallery and forums scripts).

Yes, people have been saying that the website is a little plain, but where do you think I should stick my images if I was going to do that?

(Impressive. This looks very much like a WordPress doc., and I was curious. We're thinking of using WordPress here.)

A small image next to your name in the orange box may be an option.

Thanks!

Actually, I tried to use my favourite website http://www.simplebits.com (now changed and looking different) as an example when working on p1x44r.com. Tried to keep the layout simple enough so that I can easily change it further down the road if needed.

I'll see what kind of image I can utilize in the logo. :)
