How do I get this to work in Netscape 6 and 7

If anyone could help me I would greatly appreciate it. I have narrowed the problem down to lines 362-388 in the file called dhtmllib.js. I know that I need to use getElementById to replace document.layers. But when I do I continue to get errors. You can locate all files at http://jmgmgibbs.home.att.net. I have also attached the dhtmllib.js file as well. Thanks
