I have been building websites as a hobby for a few years now some have been reviewed on here

I have now decided to try and make some money from them by building sites for others.

I have just modified my site that tells people thats what we do.
I have used a dreamweaver extention called site assist.

Now all I need is some feedback like:-

have I put enough details on??
is it to plain
is the colours ok
the site is

The site looks ok, although it doesn't "stand out" from the competition...

Few pointers for you...
1) You've got... what, 5 shades of blue? And a somewhat random shade of green... where did the green come from?

2) Blue appears to be a typical 'web design company' colour scheme... why not go for something fresh and original? Ok, your logo is blue... go for a black on white colour scheme - it'd make your logo stand out more....

3) The colour of the text in the footer doesn't contrast enough from the background it's sitting on...

4) The colour scheme of the 'buttons' for your links doesn't fit in with the design of the rest of the site...

5) Why oh why have you got GoogleAds on there?? I've visited your site once... and it's giving links to a FREE web design company, as well as links to your competitors! Having GoogleAds is going to give you what, pennies, in income? You'd be better removing them from your site - you won't need them when you're raking in the cash anyway!

Thanks for your comments. I did think that about googl ads and I have taken them off. But since then about half an hour ago I have had $1.09 added to my google account from it.

I tend to go with blue for some reason most of my sites have been blue at some stage or other dont know why.

The green I dont know where that came from either

Made footer text darker

again thanks

There seems to be a problem with the navigation javascripting. Check it out in IE 6 - make sure to clean out your cache, first. The backgrounds disappear at odd times. Also, when the page initially loaded, none of the backgrounds were present. (actually these can be achieved with CSS & w/out the JS. Visit http://css.maxdesign.com.au/listamatic/ for some techniques.)

No offense, but this design totally lacks creativity. I've seen countless web design/hosting sites with a globe on them. You might invest some time into creating a unique logo, then having the site's design compliment it.

Good Luck -

I agree with the globe, it struck me instantly when I saw the site. Also the keyboard image is a cliché.

It's 2006 already, so wordings such as “Welcome to our site” mean nothing anymore. They only stand in the way of a reader and also belong to the 90s.

Yes, it's a bit too plain.

The layout is great, so that's a good starting point.

The color problems were already mentioned.

What I want to point out is the logo: it could look a little more professional. The V is skinny and tortured compared to the W. The lowercase a overlapping the capitals also serves no purpose and looks accidental. Nothing wrong with AvantGarde as the font though. But I think you should start from a concept and design the logo to have a purpose. It's the very same process you use to build websites and other advanced designs.

In the 21th Century companies aren't looking for web designers who can only build valid XHTML code and know a few things about usability, but expect services from more multi-talented design professionals. A web business model where the only thing you had to know was a little HTML coding was left in the 90s. Today you must have at least basic understandings on graphic design and corporate images before you can start a profitable web design business. Web standards and XHTML knowhow are rarely a part of clients' interests.

I'm not saying your website or your company is a total failure at all, you just need to modernize your business model and re-evaluate your audience — just like all of us have to do every now and then.

Also, I think you need to refine your copy. For instance, consider this sentence from your About page:Our first site was www.ami-launch.co.uk an amiga based website, which I built on an Amiga 1200 this site no longer exists due to the decline in interest in the Amiga world although there is a new Amiga "The Amigaone" now being sold.

I have taken everything on board and have altered it from my first listing

I have tried to be original and use the black somebody suggested.

the page is located at

the text in the boxes has been repeated just to see how a few boxes will look on the page.

cheers in advance

Personally i don't have positive opinion on the dark backgrounded sites. The text is difficult to read.

Personally, I wouldn't use tables for layout design. W3C don't recommend tables except for tabular data... I'd probably have the whole page black, not grey and black, just for consistency...
