hi guys. this is my first post here so dont lynch me. i have recently purchased my first domain name, having previously used free webhosts, and so have no experience with cgi.
the problem is that i am trying to add a cgi search script to my site but it is not happening. i have tried more than one and they just wont work. i have heard that 'simple search' from scriptarchive.com is very basic to install but i have a choice of either 'file not found' if i point the search form to search.pl (the script is .pl) or internal server error if i direct to search.cgi. the readme says to use .cgi and i have followed the readme to the word.
i am using godaddy hosting and they have assured me that i have cgi enabled.
because i am new to perl/cgi im not sure if im just making a really silly mistake. does anybody know of any cgi tests or have any advice for me please? im in despair :(
