This is not your usual password protection problem! I have beenlooking after intranet on a small windows network. The main site is situated on a NT server with no problems accessing the wider internet with the appropriate links, but there are files that I need to access on another machine running win2k pro. Similar files are easily accessable from all other machines that are running win98 but because win2k asks for username/password on first logon the link cannot display the file in IE. I have found that on an ftp server the username and password can be incoporated into the URL but this doesn't seem to work for accessing the local machine. I have been using NetObjects Fusion 2, old software I know but it has done the job up until now. Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks in anticipation!!

I'm not a network admin, but I think it might be possible to allow anonymous access to those specific files. Maybe put them all in one directory & make it accessible to anyone.

Thanks for the reply.
I think you are right in that it must be a network thing rather than a HTML thing. I've tried mucking with IIS with no success as yet. I'll just have to find a Network Techy!!
