Fading in coloured text

I've got some code that works in IE 5.5, IE 6.0 & Opera 7 but not Netscape 7. So can anyone tell me why.
It's supposed to fade in coloured text one character at a time and the source is attached as a text document.

Can't it just be a missing feature in the browser-software? (e.g. like the same reason why the blink tag does work in N.N, but does NOT work in I.E.)

Well I've not used any code that I haven't before so it should work. If you take a look at the code, I'm not using any special tags like blink etc.

Aw, come on, someone's gotta know. I've got the same problem with a time script which displays it's contents in a div (the same way that this works).
