Are you making a Static website or a Database driven site?
From the sounds of it since your learning you might be better off making a static site and changing the site once you learn more.
If you go that route it's not much different at all... it's easy to upgrade the site once you learn the ins and outs of what you want.

what is the procedure of making a static website
Create a "mockup" of what the whole page should look like in your favorite painting program - for you it might be MS paint.
cut the sections of the image that will stay as images and position these on the site using tables in frontpage (tables are bad! but FP doesn't have CSS built in)
Add the text portions
Upload all the files to your website

In FrontPage, the term "Publish Site" means pushing the site from your PC out to the web server where folks will see it. You've implied a couple times that you want to have the site on your PC, but it's not clear (to me anyway) whether you're thinking your PC will be on the internet, running a web server and all this .NET stuff. I suspect not, in which case the "website location" field should look something like "ftp://www.someserver.com" and the FTP directory might be blank, or some directory where the files will be stored on someserver.com.
Hope that helps... I'm familiar with FrontPage, but know nothing about .NET.
Dave
I can't offer any further assistance in this regard as I always upload all my files manually via ftp.
If your web server is your computer then you can just copy the files into the website directory and you should be ready to go.
I also have never used .NET

You may have to do make an index.html page (or delete one if there is one). What is the address to your website?

You seem to be asking what the difference is between building a site to work on a .com domain or on a .net domain although this question seems to have over looked in the rush to answer the rest.
In my opinion, there is absolutely no difference.
Another point is that someone told you that you don't need an ISP. Well, I have a dot com site and I darn well need one as my server does not have an SMTP program or what ever it is called so I can receive e-mails on the site (web mail) but cannot send messages using MS Outlook as I have to enter the ISP SMTP details in the outgoing mailer server box when setting up the account in MS Outlook.
Cheers, have a good day.

Good Morning AndreyI:
I have noticed a couple of your replies which add absolutely nothing to the question posed by the poster. I trust we are not about to see this forum develope into nothing more then a means of self promotion as has seems to be the case with many other forums.
I suggest if you have nothing constructiive to add to the thread that you send a personal message to any one with whom you wish to communicate or congratulate. The rest of us are not really interested if you agree or think a specific reply is good or bad unless you add something of value to the thread.
Nor am I interested in viewing your site unless there some indication that there is something to be learned from doing so.
Cheers
Jack
