how do i set up a basic web page ?

hi , just wondering if anyone could set me int he right directionf or setting up a basic web site for a uni assesment i have to ?

i have no idea where to even start ??

for a "basic" site it's not much different then a less "basic" one...

1. site theme - what's the site about
2. Plan the site - what pages and content will it have
3. Site layout & Design
4. Implementation - make the site

Can't do much more than that to help you get going... You could make a simple/basic site within just about any program that deals with text these days.
