I am working for a company that has a rapidly growing mailing list (5000+) but as the list grows they are having more and more trouble sending the mails, e-mail get bounced back and are not turning up in inboxes. I have a feeling the they are getting bounce back because they are BCC.

I have heard there are applications (PC) available just for sending mass e-mails but don't know which one to go for any recomdations or any other advice on the subject?

Many IPs (i.e., AOL) will block e-mails if there is a large number sent from one domain within a certain amount of time.

I am currently developing a freeware one. Lee, do you know about how much time?

Not very much. And once they block a domain it stays blocked.

In my experience with AOL, they would block it for 24-48 hours. It would then be released until it happened again. You can obtain more info here (http://postmaster.aol.com/guidelines/).

I use the freeware program here (http://mojo.skazat.com/). It's called Dada Mail and works well for what you are trying to do. It also eliminates the problem I'm speaking of.

Not for us, Lee. They blocked one of our domains accidentally and no amount of calls or emails did any good. Far as I know they're still blocking it.

This (http://postmaster.info.aol.com/errors/421rlyh1.html) was the message I would usually get a link to. It states "This rate limit will be rechecked and your sending privileges may be restored within the next 24 hours." That was awhile ago I had the problem (it was mainly due to the hosting company I was using). I know what you mean, though, they are getting ridiculous.

Well, I mean, if i made it wait say, 4 seconds, between emails, would it manage to not be blocked?

I'm really not sure. There are different guidelines that these parameters are set by. I know that some of them are called RFC's (http://www.rfc-editor.org/). (Too technical for me...)

Nah, it's more like over a day or days. If too many emails start coming in from one source it'll raise a flag, no way around it that I know
