Hi.
I don't know to much about this but i was wondering if it was possible to have like 3 web servers with the same specs and then make it so that 1 web server is the main one but that if data changes i.e. in the database ect the changes are also performed on the other 2 servers?

I googled a bit but couldn't find anything. I want to use a linux distro if possible.

Also if I would set the 3 server up in that way would that mean that I could achive 100% uptime? I know that power backup incase the electricity goes and multiple internet connections are also a recuirement for that. I just think that if there is the need to reboot the server for a security update ect. then it would be possible to switch to another server and then do the reboot.

do i make sense?

cheers for any help.

I am not expert on this, but it is my understanding that we do something similar with our fileserver in the office.

You need to use SCSI hard drives, and set them up for a RAID 5 or RAID 1 (I don't remember which), and then it will show that you have only one drive, but the info is being put on all of them.
