Ok I've been working on this problem for more than a week, with no Avail.
basic details:
ok my DNS information is located at my registrar
I had a previous website which was hosted at another host other than my registrar online.
I had to switch the host of the website for a number of reasons.
The new host has to be accessed via a Nameserver, which needs to be configured on my registrar.
One more problem....I have my own email server
.................................................
so there is the problem....and this is what I've done so far
In my new host: I disabled the email and set up a custom MX to go to my email host.
I set the Nameserver on my registrar to go to the new host.
and to no avail...
as soon as I change it the old website turns to an error page, and we don't recieve emails.
isn't it just supposed to seemlessly transfer from one to the other?
thank you for all your help!
Alex
