I got a file with extension .sit from a reliable source, not from the net.
I extracted it thru 'extractnow'. a folder was created which had fonts ( MyriadPro-SemiboldCondIt.otf, MyriadPro-SemiboldCond.otf, etc... ). I installed them (window 2000 prof.), they r showing up in the fonts folder( control panel), then i restarted my flash 8, wrote a text in it. now when i try finding this new font in the font menu it is not there.
I deleted and reinstalled the font, yet no success. I deleted another font (.otf ) that was working and reinstalled it, flash is showing it.
does this mean that the fonts i got r corrupt or something. Or that it is from a MAC ( since it had .sit extension), thus it won't work on Windows. I am sure it got extracted properly since the file that i referred also had a .jpg, .fla. they r working fine.
What is the problem?

a .sit extension is from an archiver called Stuufit Expander and so that is not the issue.

the issue is most likely that they have the extansion .otf

try changing one to .ttf and see if flash picks it up. If it does, rename them all.

.ttf is true-type font, not sure what .otf is though

hi, thanks for replying. otf is Open Type Font.
How do i change it to .ttf, won't it harm the font. Other .otf fonts r working fine in Flash.
