Hello, the answer is probably no, but does not hurt to ask. Looking for one-on-one help in my geograhic location, willing to pay a reasonable contractor rate. I am not a high school kid, am a professional adult looking for assistance.

Am in a JavaScript class that ends on July 16 -- only looking for 2-3 weeks of in-person "on and off" help. Really need someone to explain stuff to me as I build my little assignments to ensure I am doing correctly and have grabbed correct methods/commands... Essentially, instructor presents stuff as if we already know it, he throws too much at us and expects us to "just go do it". He does not teach with any type of building blocks or concepts, he just throws whole program examples at us...

I am no dummy, I have spent hours working alone and at this site trying to figure things out; have some basic concepts but need tutorial help (in-person) to work on a couple ongoing assignments... I can explain better in person than in this posting.

If anyone is in California, that is in the San Jose area that may be interested, please contact me.

thks Dave. Yes I noticed those links, just did not look into 'em. I'll take a look and get back to you. I can always reply to your personal email address and go from there.

If it works out -- great -- else I am still searching for someone in my area to work with.

Thks, Nina.

Yeah, I saw the "in-person" and "San Jose area" and figured it excluded me...

hah, funny funny guys ..... noo not looking to pay for anyone's airfare or hotel stay, I am not rich! :( Was just looking for direct one-on-one tutorial help in my area. Those that have contacted me are all long distance, looks like I'm out of luck.

In case anyone else reads this ... the situation is: my assignments require various things such as form input, validations, submissions, displaying and computing various items, building and accessing data from a DB, etc. Some of these topics I have come to the forum for already -- some items I have working, some I do not.

This is basic stuff for someone that already knows programming and JavaScript. That's why I need to work one-on-one: I kind of understand JS at a very simple level and do have my html pages already built -- now, the next part is understanding/seeing how to get other items coded/connected/working in the background -- this can only be accomplished in incremental steps while viewing my files and then editing/mucking with it as we went along. It's too complicated for email and phn conversations.

Thus, was looking for someone in my area I could connect with to work with me for an hour "here and there" so I could be shown/explained what I need to do and how to build it. That was it.

haha no airplanes or hotels involved.
