I'm pretty sure this has been covered somewhere on this site but God help me if I can think of the right word to say what it means.

I want to add sub-options to my Google search result. For example, if you google Sony, it gives you the website then just beneath the url you have a list of sub-catergories to go directly to what your looking for.

I believe Google randomly picks company websites with a larger spectrum of definitive categories and displays them underneath the original result.

Exactly. Those are organic search results which means Google controls that display and the site owner has no control over sub-category listings.
