Hi -
Could someone please recommend (preferrably free) web statistics software for a Windows/IIS server? We recently purchased AlterWind, and I'm having nothing but problems with it. Before this, we had WebTrends, but couldn't afford to buy the latest version (ours was ca. 1995-1997).

I need something that
- will produce a report which can be saved into html on our server, and distributed in emails by a link
- integrates both htm, html and pdf into the final report
- allows me to exclude *.css, *.gif, and *.jpg from the results

Thanks,
KDLA

Have you tried http://www.google.com/analytics/

I'm using it on the OneAna.com site and it's very interesting. I have to admit I haven't played around with it to much to see if it will weed out everything you want weeded out. I'll keep my eyes open for something that will for sure thou.

Another bonus reason to try it is that it is free.

Thanks. I had heard of it, but never thought of using it.

The issue we're having with AlterWinds is that you can't save the report to your server -- well, technically you can, but it's not functional, because it is in frames, uses graphics, and requires ActiveX for viewing.

I used this one (http://www.xav.com/scripts/axs/) for years. It's very detailed, free, and easy to use.

I had this reccommended to me because it was free. I installed it on one site so far. It seems to work ok. I will be honest, I have not done much with it so I cannot tell you exactly how well it works though.

It runs in ASP and each page you want to track needs to have a Javascript code placed in it. That is the one drawback I know of right off the top of my head.

Edit: It was developed by someone in Italy so expect some Italian once and awhile.
