Resizing several images at once

I have 580 images that need to be resized from 3264x2448 to 1024x768, and I only know how to do it image by image on Photoshop or Fireworks.

Is there a way to resize all these pictures at once?

I use MS Power Toys for that, http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

Just select all in the folder, and then R-click on one, select resize image, then the size, and presto, all resized.
