Hi everyone, I'm currently having a problem with Photoshop 7.0. I have these little button images with rounded edges. Here (http://www.ultimate-reviews.net/templates/comics/imagenext01style01.bmp) is an example. Now, Because I'm going to have different colored backgrounds, I'd like to make a universal button that will blend into all of them. I tried cutting out just the button into its own layer with a transparent background, but that doesn't work. This is because the wand thingy grabs part of the border, messing up the image. Is there any way I can manually select which pixels to keep (or a better idea)? Thanks in advance.

Just remove the unwanted edges and save as a gif. I attached an example

Okay, but you cut off two pixels off of each corner. Is it possible to keep them, or am I being too picky? Thanks.

if you have ps 7.0 then you can do it yourself. don’t use the magic wand tool though, it is only good for really basic shapes. just zoom in all the way and erase the pixels you don’t want from each corner with the erase brush and save as a .gif.

ps, you should ALWAYS work with a transparent background in photoshop / imageready

See, the thing is, I wanted to keep all the non-white pixels, and then make the white transparent. I made the images in Paint, and then applied some photoshop stuff to them, which is why it's kinda screwy. Any ideas how to keep all of the border? Thanks for all your help so far.

i would suggest making the image entirely with photoshop. it will look better and give you exactly what you are looking for, just takes a little practice. also follow skilled1's suggestion ;)
