When I try to upload my page the result is the file name (index.html)
I have to click the file name to see the actual page... What wrong? I've tried a very basic page to make sure the code is correct but I still get the same result. Help???

Is your problem that you are going to http://yourdomainname.com and it's giving a list of what's in that folder?

Sounds like when you are uploading the index file, that you are not uploading it to the proper folder on your server. OR, your server is not replacing the original index file with the new one. Make sure you are uploading the new index fille in you http folder on server. That should be were index file for your domain in housed. Also, when you upload that, make sure your server is allowing the swap.

Are you the server administrator? And, if not, do you have the correct permissions to upload new files with the FTP program you are using? Is the FTP program you are using really working for you? There are alot of questions to be asked as to how to fix this problem. But, I am thinking that the new index file you are uploading is not going to the proper place or not allowing original index file to be replaced.

you may need to tell your server the file. most are default to index.html but it may require setting up

if theres a index.htm or index.php they normally default so make sure there are none of them and if there are delete them and the .html one and then reupload the one you want to use.
