1and1 Dedicated Managed Server - Business Server I

Hi All

I am currently with Claranet paying alot of money for a shared service and I am considering moving to 1and1 Dedicated Managed Server - Business Server I.

Becuase I am an e-com site and we are approaching our busiest time I am concerned about quality of the switch over.

Does anyone have any experience with 1and1 dedicated hosting? Was there support good?

I am considering dual running the new site until I have tested and then transferring the url.

1and1 was the worst experience I've ever had with a web host. I did lots of research after the whole 1and1 deal and ended up with a vps from powervps.com. They've been great.

the worst time to move is when you know business will pick up. The last thing you want to do is be down.

Also with the pick up in business do you have time to test the site on the new server? I suggest waiting till a slow down.

I also have to agree with Mojo, stay away from that host if possible. if you check out http://www.thelist.com they have the best listing of hosts around. If your looking for the referral check out site5, I've used them for years and they've been excellent.
