I had a few programs going and a number of i.e. windows open...I was surfing around and suddenly I saw the numbers 666 wedged in my toolbar. One 6 was before the BACK button, one 6 around STOP and one 6 round FAVORITES. I thought it was a virus so I closed everything and did a scan. No viruses were found. So I'm thinking maybe someno put in some script in their page to do that. Is it possible?
666 very scary.

I know the way to make this possible by modify the registry of the user computer...

But if someone made this on (by) a script, it is really scary...

Some details needed...

Did it occures on a single page ???

You said you have a couple of ie windows open ???
Those were not affected by this ???

Did it remain on your ie browser, or does it came back to normal when you closed the windows ???

Did you know the url of the site on wich it occured ???

As you see, you drive me curious about this...

It was a single window. I wish I took a snap-shot of it. I was just surfing info on vintage pocket radios. I'll see if I can reproduce it. Y'know there is an error you get I think when you overload I.E. and have pages with javascript running and you start to get large fonts in your address bar and such (It hink it's an error...) I wonder if that had anything to do with it.

What I want to know is if it was an error that produced random numbers which just happened to be 666.

By the way, apparently "w w w" in hebrew coresponds with the numbers 6 6 6.

Also look at this:

anyhow I have no idea how the 666 got into my toolbar.

You find this by searching for 666?

The internet in full of chit, too.
Sometime i forget about it...

Now for your probleme, would you like to try to reproduce it ???
Not by the web, but by hand.

You know there are websites that trick you into downloading ...actually some don't even even give you the option YES or NO. Maybe that's how it happened. I remember running into some German site earlier in the day that started downloading a file to my computer. Or it seemed to. But then the problem has never reoccured, and it was only 1 page. Anyhow I just wanted to know if my computer was posessed.
