Can someone please explain to me what cropping means? :confused:

In general it has to do with cutting off unwanted areas of the image.

Cropping is the present participle of to crop, meaning to remove the top end of something (such as a plant), to cut short (such as a puppies tail), or to remove the outer parts of something (such as a photograph).

Cropping means editing pics, such as, cutting/adding pics as you want.No, cropping doesn't ever involve adding new infomation, or even really the editing of existing infomation, merely the removal of what is unwanted.

If it were a physical photo that you held in your hands then you can crop it with a pair of scissors. The crop function in graphics programs is the online equivalent of those scissors.

well since we got the "real" definition out of the way we can also define "cropping" as...

Letting one rip as you walk past an unsuspecting/unfortunate group of people!
