need help with adjusting height of a table

When I create a table the height of it is always defaulted to a certain size. How can I make that size shorter than normal. I want it to be 1/3 of the current height. Where do I need to make a change can some one help and give me an example please.

It may be because the font size of whatever's in that table is bigger than the size you specified making it extend to that high. Try resizing the font. If you have no font in there, it's most probably because you have a space within the HTML.
