Hello everyone! Just signed up for this forum! Excellent site!
I need your help / advice. My website is not being detected by search engines. I have all Meta tags required but still nothing happens when I type out keywords.
My website is detected only when i type the exact url of the site.
What's happening?
Thanks in advance :)

How long have you had the website up? See it does take a very long time for bots and spiders to find your website unless you try speeding it along by telling the search engines where it is yourself. Once you add the URL it is added to a que for the spiders to crawl so don't expect instant results, it took my site over a month after adding to be picked up. Once picked up though it will be regularly crawled.

Sites that already are being crawled linking to your site also helps, so if you have any friends that can add a link that would speed things up a little.

My websites take about 2 months for search engines to pick it up.
Did you tell the "robots" how often they must visit your site?
You can change the 30 days to 1 day if your site get new info every day.

Here is the code-
<meta name="revisit-after" content="30 days">

Hope this will help too.

well... It depends also on the content of your pages. For instance, Google has a "smart" search engine. It not simply indexes the words you have tasted into the meta tags, but it gives also a quick search onto the page's texts as well. If no word from the meta content (or title of the page) matches with the real text written on the pages, the site is considered a "faked" one, and looses the index position or even it is not indexed at all....

Hi! This is an educational website so all content in d meta tags comes from the webpages. I think the problem was that it was crawled some time ago and I did not have any meta tags containing key words. Hopefully now when they come back again [Hopefully :o) ] they can index it!

Submit a Google XML sitemap (http://www.colizer.com/online-sitemap-generator.php) .

Use Google Webmaster Tools to register your XML sitemap. :D

Haha, it's crazy how much Google has become over the past couple years.

Place a link for your site in your signature here, and submit to some free directories.

I was indexed within a month of uploading a google bot file from google. https://www.google.com/accounts/Login is the page I bookmarked. It's around here somewhere... flip through, there is a place to get your own file. I think I registered first.

There's also this link: http://www.google.com/intl/en/services/ It's for businesses.

Best of luck. It does take time.
