I wasn't sure where else to post this topic so it will go here for now(and maybe stay here).

I bought a D-Link wireless gaming adapter yesterday and I can't get it to work with my PS2. I read all the manuals and online stuff. I sent an email to D-Link. Nothing is working.

Supposedly I can just plug the adapter into my PS2 and use the automatic settings and it will work. but it doesn't. And to configure it, I am supposedly supposed to be able to plug it into my computer and put 'http://192.168.0.30/' in IE(or my browser) and it will bring me to the adpaters settings thing(like logging into your router).

Of course that doesn't work either. And I even read that the gaming adapter should work with the default settings of my router if i am using a dlink router(which i am(rangerbooster g)). But once more, that is a no go.

Has anyone here ever used a wireless gaming adapter with a PS2? Or do you know a good support forum for this? I didn't see one on sony or dlink's site....

I can't take that adapter back now(except in exchange)(but bestbuy is out of them now...) and I don't want to waste my money when it is on a somewhat expensive purchase.

Did you make sure that Dlink was compatible with all of your hardware, computer and otherwise? I've not used Dlink with a gaming system, but considered using their wireless internet hardware, and my cable/broadband service says it's incompatible with DLink; I have to use Motorola. It could be a similar issue.

I suggest you take it back and request another (it could be defective). If they don't have one, you could request a raincheck, allowing you to pick one up once they are again in stock.

Make sure it actually works - it actually sends and recieves wireless (Start > Run > type 'cmd' > in prompt type 'ping ' + MAC address). Also check your router is working and you actually have one. If all fails, use the Linksys Wireless Game Adapter - I needs no drivers and actually works!
