A couple of days ago, I procured a new web host because I was continually running out of bandwidth. I changed the DNS with the registrar of my domain name and a couple of days later, it had propogated itself to the new web host's servers. Except when I try to access my own web site now, I get a "bandwidth limit exceeded" page 9 out of 10 times. On the tenth try, I *might* get through to my site. I have 3 computers on my desk, and only one computer can access my site 7 out of 10 times. The "bandwidth limit exceeded" message is what I used to get when I accessed my site with my old web host after I ran out of bandwidth. Otherwise, I've never had a problem accessing my site before I switched web hosts.

Thinking it may just be me, I asked my friends who use just about every operating system and browser available to test my site. Some of them could access it no problem on their first try. Others received such error pages as: "page not found", "page not available" and "The connection has timed out -- The server at www.theinspirationgallery.com is taking too long to respond."

I've talked to the tech support department of my new web host and they say they don't know what's causing this -- certainly not anything to do with them. Of course, when they tried to access my site, they got through the first try. This does not inspire great confidence !! However, I am left with the issue of why *I* can't access my own site reliably on three computers and some visitors can and some can't.

Has anyone ever had this type of situation and, if so, was there a solution? My web site is: http://www.theinspirationgallery.com if anyone wants to give a try and see if they get through.

Any thoughts on the matter are appreciated. Please and thanks.

Works fine for me. Sounds like either you have some security software not allowing to go to your site. Your cache is showing the old page. Clear out your cache or your ISP may also give you a bandwidth limit. Have you tried using a different browser? I'm using Firefox 1.5.0.7

Hi and thanks for checking out my site. Glad to know someone else made it through. Actually, I don't have any kind of security software running at all on any of my 3 computers aside from a firewall, which never posed a problem in the past. And yes, I've cleared my cache numerous times (is there some other way that I don't know about other than the "delete files" under Internet Options in IE6?).

Make sure you check the box that says "Delete all offline content" as well.
C:\Documents and Settings\ComputerOwner\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files is usually where the temp internet files are at. See if anything resides there as well.

Also a firewall is considered security software, it helps protect the security of your system doesn't it? Try disabling it to see what happens.

Hi PittsburghRed and thanks for checking my site out for me. Glad you got through and enjoyed the game. :o)

Meanwhile, my web host keeps claiming there is no reason why my domain name should randomly be directing my visitors (including myself) to my old DNS and new DNS. I'll have to keep on top of them so this matter gets resolved.
