IS asp where things are going? Scripts seem to come and go out of style as fast as dresses and before I even knew what a script was!
But really, I am looking for a server - up to $10ish a month, probably microsoft (because I stubbornly want to use an asp ecard program I like) I want to know I can grow with it- It can handle music, animation, maybe video- I'm more at the art end than the script end- and as I learn new stuff I find I've outgrown my server (ipowerweb) I dont know if I'll ever write code-maybe a bit -and maybe one day design someone elses simple page (thank god for dreamweaver) so I want something you people who know what you are doing would find "serviceable"
Any suggestions? Please, anyone!?

Actually when you talk about videos and music the question is more: Will Windows 2000 and next generations be able to handle this? ASP does not stream video and music, the Media Server does, if you are into streaming the stuff anyway. Otherwise it is more of a download thing, and that depends solely on bandwith.

In my experience Windows Media is nice, but Real Server's Helix rules.

But this is already too much for an asp forum.

As long as you need scripting, and using some form of dynamics in your HTML already requires scripting, ASP will be one of the alternatives. Especially since the whole Visual.NET suite is gaining momentum. I believe ASP will continue to be there.
