Does a dedicated server boost your page ranking ?

I've been gradually optimising my site for the past 10 months and I am gradually seeing results. However I am curious to know what impact hosting the site on a dedicated server (unique server hosting) would have on my page rank ?

I have searched a round to find a qualified answer but most of what I have found out has been ambiguos.

Any answers will be greatly received.

I could be wrong but being that the site is searched using a bot, I don't think it even knows what kind of a server you're on.

A dedicated web server would improve your ranking in the search engines almost as well as owning a big house would help make your car run further without refueling.
