I've changed my ring tone to "We are the Champions". I've left it playing as a message to some friends of mine at work who are Mets fans. You wouldn't believe how much crap I've taken and delivered in the last two weeks.

You may have to take crap from them but you're better than they are. After all, you're a World Champion.

Funny, everyone this far west in the state is usually a Royals fan, at least until they are eliminated from post season (usually sometime in April LOL). Then, everyone starts slowly referring to the Cardinals as our team instead of just mine. I call them the "We Birds" because they fly south unless the Cards are winning. This year was more fun. The "We Birds" for the most part didn't show up until we were up 3-1 in the series.

Now to take care of the Chiefs fans.

I own some property in Eldon, just north of the lake. If the Rams game is on CBS, they carry the Chiefs game instead. But if I go to Osage Beach, there's a sports bar that carries the Rams. But that's OK.

Wait, I'm confused... you, wamboid, are a world champion disc golfer? What exactly is disc golfing?

What's up, did I miss the revive as many old threads as you can holiday on my calendar or something?

Anyway, the World Champion reference from the good dr refers to my avatar, which is the logo of the World Champion St Louis Cardinal baseball team. We were both a bit giddy after the World Series last year.

Put in the simplest of terms, disc golf is basically golf with a frisbee. Actually, frisbee is just a brand of disc and they don't make golf discs. Golf discs can travel accurately well over the length of a football field. The sport has been gaining popularity rapidly the last few years, with more courses being built on a regular basis. I designed and built our local course. I'm proud of it. It has been described as one of the top 3 in the state by several professionals.

That's really neat! Disc golfing sounds like a sport I'd really like to try.

And, yes, I was always wondering why I was getting one E-mail notification for every twelve from two other forums that I'm member of... so I subscribed to a ton of threads here so now things are getting more busy. Too busy... I may have to cancel some subscriptions. ;)

If you want to try the sport, go to the Course Directory at pdga.com (http://www.pdga.com/course/index.php) and see if there is a course near you. Best thing about the sport is that most courses are free to play. Also, a real golf disc for a beginner costs under $10 usually.
