Creating a E-Commerce site

Hello
What is the best way to make a E-Commerce web site in Dreamweaver that is made the way you want it, can you do this in coldfusion, or PHB, I want to make this site myself 100% not looking for a online shopping Cart

Mike... it's time for a little heart to heart here

Don't do this... unless you have a strong knowledge in whatever code style you plan on using. There are so many issues you have to deal with that your best option is to truely look at a premade off the web cart app.

I know you say you don't want one but your going to save yourself so much time and headache. There are some that are completely open source so making your own mods and tweaks are still very much an option.

However if your bent on doing this, list how many items you plan on having in your store and what your strongest in for coding.

as pete said don't play with peoples money unless you know your code and security inside out and from asking if you can use dreamweaver you instantly tell us you don't yet have the knowledge to handle the security of card transactions and an ordering system.

i have been building websites for over 6 years and am fairly competent but i wouldn't touch e-commerce.

also the open source have had years of development and many programmers knowledge put into them which is much better than i ever could build
