Hi everybody! Well, I'm taking a look at laptop computers *drool* and one such unit I have my eye on is running Windows XP media center. I know it's intended for recording live TV, and listening to radio-- both are things that I don't do. I design graphics with GIMP, I use HTML kit for developing, :DFirefox, Opera, etc all for webdeveloping. Is it savvy with such things?
I know it could run them, but is the OS not overly designed for media rather than webdeveloping?
What do the other versions of XP have that it does not? What does Media center have that they don't? Is it really OK for website design? Please do keep in mind that I'll be using it for college (can it also handle being a virtual server with XAMPP?) By the way, the laptop I have my eye on is the HP Pavilion dv6140us (http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/shopping/product_detail.do;jsessionid=FHq5yi5ShMm6Zk48t0kHgXGNqWpPro7fnd7bv1ywCsARhuO2oCxS!2112749531?product _code=RG274UA%23ABA&tab=detailed_specs&storeName=computer_store&landing=computers&category=notebooks/dv6000z_series&subcat1=rts&catLevel=4#defaultAnchor).
