What to use to track a sale from beginning to end?

I am looking for an easy and affordable software or program to monitor information on successful sales. Mainly, I would like to know how sucessful sales entered my site so that I can convert ROI for CPC advertising on Google and Overture, email advertising, search engine keywords, banner ads, Ebay, etc. Can anyone suggest a company that does this? My ISP recommended MyReferer.com, which is $35 a month. Any big names out there that I should research, or any cheaper alternatives? Thanks, Steve

One of my coders have done that in the past... to make a long story short it's a matter of using cookies and a database.
