Hey guys, I was researching to see if there were any reviewes of any gaming sites (sites whose purpose serve, trading, selling or handling transactions of person to person selling or trading of games) and I stumbled accross this site.

Here is the site: www.playerchain.com

Please rip it apart and let me know your honest opinions!

I look forward to everyones response soon!

Dang.....
I forgot you have to add a game to your inventory to be able to browse the site.
I apologize.... I don't know how to get around this.

It isn't my site. It's actually a friend of mines and I'm thinking about investing. I wanted it critiqued by some professionals.....

What does the check mark by my post mean?
Can anyone else see that?

I'm digging how you've contained so much information in the later "FAQ" page of the site, leaving room for the "Subjects." Very nice web site. I'd be interested in the product...Good luck!

Yeah, I like it too! We've only been advertizing for a few weeks and have well over 200 members and 700 items in the inventory.
We are about to implement a couple of changes that shold drastically help out the site.
Thanks for giving it a look!
Hopefully more people will post up their opinions!

I think there's a problem with the font. The browser may not read it properly. The design looks not bad, but it lacks professional approach.

I agree, we are going to have to go out and get some brand new games to put in the inventory to keep people interested. Maybe post up the most desired games somewhere..... We have thought about this and approached a designers about the changes....

We are going to make it where you can browse the site without signing up.... Also we have some incentive plans we are looking at implementing. 5 extra gamebucks for refering a friend.... 5 for each person...

I haven't seen a problem with the font? What exactly are you looking at? Does anyone else see this font issue?

K, so basically you think the font is too small?
That's it? I thought it was something else....like the font was jacked up somehow. Ok, I'll get with our webdesigner to look into that, if he has time....

Speaking of that.....I don't know if this is appropriate in this forum but what are the chances I could get in touch with someone about making some changes to my site?

Our original webdesigner is crazy busy and we need to get a quote from another webdesigner....

Can anyone at least point me in the right direction?

P.S. - Keep the reviews coming!

Hey guys....
For those of you that have reviewed the site check out some changes that are coming in the near future. Hopefully they will really make the site shine!

Changes to Basic User Functionality:

• Users should be able to delete the games they have in their inventory.

• When some one clicks on the “add a game” to their inventory I want it to show a message reminding them to only add games they are serious about trading. It doesn’t even have to be a new page, because it could easily just be added to a message box on top of the “add a game” page. It can read something to this effect: “Only add games that you are serious about trading. If someone requests your game and you neglect to respond, your account will be frozen.”

• I would like to give users the ability to be able to send messages to the user on the other end of the transaction other than the shipping comments and feedback comments. Just a simple set up just incase a member might want to ask the other why it’s taking so long to ship and so on.

Miscellaneous Changes:

• Friend referral program: When a new user goes to pay they are prompted with a promotional code text box. A user can skip this if they choose, but if they have the right code they can enter it in the box. The user provides us with the member’s referral ID that was provided to them by the existing member. After their payment is verified the system will update both accounts with 5 game bucks each as well as updating the account with whatever the user purchased.
• If someone does more than 5 transactions they will receive an additional 5 (possibly 10) game bucks (received or sent transactions).

• The database needs to have a better design. There are other sites that have the set up I am looking for. They show the games front cover, back cover, screen shots, as well as a descriptive paragraph about the game and reviews. All the games are already listed so when you want to add a game to your inventory you search the database for the game when you find it you simply add the game to your inventory.

• Set it up to where people could get instant gratification by selling the games to us for game bucks. Set up an extra column to the right of all the games you have listed in your inventory. It shows the quote for instant gratification with out them asking for it. This means that people could simply send their old used games they they think they might have a hard time selling and weill offer them something along the lines of the retail price in store credit so they can have more gamebucks to play with.

Win/Win situation. We are trying to combat unresponsive members. By people mailing us their games we will build a strong inventory which "Playerchain" will promptly ship the item out same day....

Let me know what you guys think!
Thanks,
Austin

Just a quick update of the site.....

We have 500 members and over 1,600 games in the inventory!

The changes mentioned above are currently being implemented and the most important ones should be done with in 2 weeks!

This site is doing great and I wanted to tell everyone thanks for their reviews.

P.S. - We still haven't changed the font...lol
