Basically, whenever i animate a png, lets say as a motion tween, the image starts to distort, and become bitmappy and pixelated.

I have right clicked on the image, in the library, and changed the properties the quality to 100. I've tried breaking the image apart... but still no luck.

Is there any way around this?

Thanks in advance.

Rapidz.

Is the PNG a graphic symbol inside Flash?

Is it a PNG 32? I've noticed in Flash 8, for PNG's to be fully transparent w/out being pixelated, it must be PNG 32.

nope, its a png-24. I'm using photoshop cs2. I don't think it gives me the option to save it as a png-32. only png-24.

How would i save it as a png-32 in photoshop?

many thanks.

Not a clue, I'm sure a Google search would provide an answer pretty quickly. Oh heck, here's a link I found:

Evidently, PS considers PNG 32 as 24. I know FW supports this. If all else fails, d-load a trial version of FW and try PNG 32 and see if that solves the problem.

I'm not graphically oriented, I'm basically comfortable in Fireworks.

Photoshop CS2 doesn't offer the option to save as PNG-32.....only PNG-24 and PNG-8

Perhaps it's the PNG-8 option that you need? To save, click 'File' then go down to 'Save for Web'. A window will open then you just need to select PNG-8 and press save

Do you have a link or a way to zip the file up for a look? I have some time this morning and would be willing to take a look.

Yeah, I see, not sure if I'll be able to spot the problem with this one or not.
