I'm a beginner..

Hi, I'm just a beginner who has been asked to look into setting up an e-commerce website for the small company I work for. We have been selling some things with an Ebay store and have had some succes but are trying to cut down on the fees we're paying per transaction. I have minimal computer experience, and really don't know where to start. Can someone tell me where to begin?

In some ways you will still have to pay fees let it be the credit card processing, database, https, maintaing code, updating, and so on. Might add up to even more.

There are a lot of solutions out there for online stores, I would suggest you find code that has already been written, because you will spend more trying to roll your own solution in the long run.
