First of all it needs a doctype, right at the head of the code.

After that, for a first site, it's reasonable. It's quite attractive visually, although you have some coding errors...

What program are you using to code?

I hadn't intended to discourage you seeing you said it was your first site. However, browsing through a site you linked to, I noticed: posted by you: Ask me for any help you might need, for I am the HTML and JAVASCRIPT masta'!

ok don't bother telling me what you code with. Your source has frontpage written all over it. You should try a proper html editor like notepad or html-kit (www.chami.com)

You should also use css for layout not tables, and nesting tables is not recommended.

And kill the hover effect you have on your menu. It's basically pointless.
