Hi,

I was hoping that someone could help me out on this one.

I have my own website, and from it I have set up email accounts. They are: davepearce@davepearceorchestra.co.uk and info@davepearceorchestra.co.uk. My web host is 4sites network and CPanel.

I have set up the accounts so the messages that go into my website email address are forwarded onto my personal hotmail accounts.

Just recently, I often get messages that appear to be from myself. In the "from" line it reads my email address, and in the "reply" line, it reads someones name, followed by something like: nmc@davepearceorchestra.co.uk

I was wondering if there is something that I've set up wrong with the email accounts and if anyone has any explanations to this??

I have also just recently set-up sub-domains so that I can access my emails without having to go through the website control panel. Has this got anything to do with it?

I look forward to hearing from anyone.

Are the messages you receiving spam? If so they are incorrectly formatting the email address or leaving it out altogther, and your email is getting dropped in its place. If it's not spam, do a help ticket with your hosting co.

Thanks Webfinity for your help!

The messages I am getting are spam. I still feel that I may have set-up my email wrong. I have set up a sub-domain, which I put in my browser to access my emails. Now it simply says that my "access is denied".

I now go through the website address and put "webmail" at the end of the address which takes me through to checking my emails. None of it seems to work correctly anymore. I set up my email accounts to go through the accounts that are on my domain name. I set them up to go through "Neomail", and sometimes that doesn't exist!

I'm completely confused by it all, and it looks like all my emailing system has completely gone wrong.

No, welcome to the spam. That's all pretty normal (if spam can be called "normal") as far as my experiences.
