Hello,
I know a little bit about creating websites and how to use the programs that create them. And knowing this, is why I don't understand what I'm doing wrong.
I was used to creating/editing website template's with the regular set of files (like the ones I mention below 'abc2') and using photoshop and imageready. I would open the .psd in photoshop, it would display the complete website and on the right side, it would show the list of images and all the layers and etc. I could click on one of the images from the list on the right and do all kinds of editing...like adding a shadow or fading another images into it, etc etc.
Then once fine tuning the site and getting it to look the way I want, I would then open Dreamweaver to do the coding side of it.
** The Problem, a friend sent me a website template with all its files but I think its missing certain files to edit. To give an example of the only files that I have, look below at 'xyz1'. I noticed that when I opened the .fla file in flash 8...it loaded just fine and on the right side was a list of files...I think its called the 'library'. When I clicked on each one, while in flash 8, it would show a thumb pic.
This is were I become stuck because as I explained above about how I normally would start to edit a template, I dont understand how I will be able to edit it the same way, by using flash 8. Or can I save it some how in flash 8 with a psd extension, so I then can edit it in photoshop? Is that how it should be done, and I dont know how? Please someone help me to figure this out.
I guess one of the main questions I'm trying to figure out is if its possible to edit the template I have, in the same way I would normally with photoshop?
Here is the example of files I got from my friend. In the folder of the website template are the following files:
xyz1.fla
xyz1.fla.jsfl
xyz1.swf
xyz1.html
xyz1-b.jpg
xyz1-h.jpg
And that's it, nothing else is in the folder.
(Dont pay any attention to the name 'xyz1' its only used as example)
The files listed below are the normal set I would use to create or edit other website templates:
abc2.fla
abc2.swf
abc2_about.html
abc2_index.html
abc2_about.psd
abc2_index.psd
And there is also a 'image' folder with a lot of images.
I'm sorry to bore some of you with this, but I only explained how I'm used to editing a website template, so hopefully you could get a better idea on what I'm trying to accomplish. I truly would appreciate some input, help, direction....please.
