Yesterday I was backing up a DVD to my computer. I walked out of the room, came back in and the computer was off. Now the computer won't come back on and I have no earthly idea what to do. I opened it up and noticed that a green light turns on inside it, but other than that nothing else happens. Any suggestions?

Green light? Where.... Do you hear any noises? Output on the screen?

There's a green light on the motherboard. Now I have switched the power supply and it turns on ... but only for a brief 2 seconds. So I'm further to getting it fixed than before ... but it still isn't usable.

What do you mean by turn on?
The PSU starts?
Or the computer flashs output on the screen for 2 secounds?

Unplug the drives and PCI cards and try turning it on. Same deal or does it get further?
