I noticed that I can't access my (free) MSN email account through Outlook Express anymore.
Does anyone know a work around, so I can access it?

Does anyone know a work around, so I can access it? KDLA DanielSmith 11-20-2006, 08:43 PM it was the msn that had blocked your access to msn account through Outlook Express.Only charged user can use this utility. KDLA 11-20-2006, 09:41 PM Will it work with plain old Outlook? LiLcRaZyFuZzY 11-21-2006, 06:35 AM hotmail absolutely sucks..now they even make you pay for this suckiness? :| KDLA 11-21-2006, 06:48 AM Guess so. I used this account for newsletters, ordering and stuff. I hate to get rid of it. I've had it so long, it sure will be a pain to change all my subscriptions. Doesn't Bill Gates have enough money? Geez.... the tree 11-21-2006, 11:22 AM Directly upanddownloading e-mails became a paid service in response to people using hotmail for spam, apparently. I imagine you could set your hotmail account to forward all e-mails to a new account. KDLA 11-21-2006, 11:42 AM OOO -- good idea. I hadn't thought of that. I've got several accounts. Getting them in one spot (as was in OE) is very helpful. Has anyone used GetMail? http://www.e-eeasy.com/GetMail.aspx Mausau2000 11-21-2006, 07:37 PM I tryed forwarding about 3 months ago :D Hotmail didn't support it... cool program though :D (Hotmail forwarding was what is stopping all my friends from changing hosts :P ) If you are doing to change online email, change to gmail... They have pop3 and stmp as well and i have had no problems with them so far :) The Old Sarge 11-22-2006, 12:03 PM Doesn't Bill Gates have enough money? Geez.... More than enough. Gates Foundation (http://www.gatesfoundation.org/default.htm) I know -- I used to, and now, work for organizations that are partially funded by Gates grants. :D Seems that somehow, email companies could restrict the amount of email sent (not received), that accounts could be charged by activity. Like a cell phone. Pkg. 1 - up to 200 emails per mo. = free Pkg. 2 - 201-500 emails per mo. = $5 or something I'm sure there are people who'd be totally against this, that monitoring activity would infringe on some rights. It just aggravates me that we all have to suffer because spam has become "uncontrollable." I'd be interested in seeing how much money (unsolicited) spam actually generates. NogDog 11-22-2006, 03:07 PM ...I'd be interested in seeing how much money (unsolicited) spam actually generates. Part of the problem is that there's not a lot of difference in the cost for spammers to send 10 emails or 10 million. Suppose a hypothetical spammer spends $100.00 for a CD with 10 million email addresses, and has a web hosting account that costs him/her $10/month. Suppose that spammer sends 10 million emails a month, with offers which net him/her $10.00 from each person who responds. Suppose on average only 1 in 100,000 recipients respond each month? In one month the CD of email addresses has paid for itself with the spammer clearing $900 in profits, and each succeeding month receives $1000 profit (for maybe one evening's work each month?). This is all of course imaginary as far as the numbers go, and would depend greatly on what the spammer is trying to sell (or steal, unfortunately); but it illustrates the idea that by sheer quantity of spamming they hope to make money even if only a very minute fraction of recipients actually respond. innominds 11-22-2006, 03:32 PM I think its better to prefer Gmail with its excellent interface. It could steal the show. Mr Initial Man 11-22-2006, 06:08 PM Um... I think old hotmail accounts were grandfathered, though.
