embeded wmv file - first frame displayed?

Hello,

I am embeding a wmv file into a webpage (I'm a newbie - easy with me!).

It all works fine, but until the user presses play, the media player screen is just black.

I have seen sites that have the first frame of the video displayed at first, then when the user preses play, it begins to play the video.

How do I make it do that??

You can't by just embedding. You need to tell the author of the video that you want it programmed in this certain way.

WMP has never shown the first frame of the video. I'm guessing the sites you've seen probably weren't even using WMV files. Flash Video can do this. Do you have Dreamweaver 8 or Flash 8 available to you?

No, I don't have Dreamweaver or Flash...is there not anyway of doing it in WMV?
