I've been having this issue arise now and then, and was wondering if someone here knows what I'm talking about. And maybe tell me why it's happening. This is the scenario:

I get halfway through building a page in flash 8. As I'm working I'm publishing and testing after adding things, things work fine. Then at some point while adding things the SWF disables the browser's scroll function. What I mean is, when I click anywhere inside of the swf the mouse scroll wheel stops working. I still have the ability to drag the browser's scrollbar down manually(but that is weak). Then I move the mouse outside of the swf, click in the empty browser space outside the swf, all of the mouse-scrollwheel function returns. Can't pinpoint where and how I'm screwing up.

Has anyone seen or heard of this issue?
Could it be the way I'm layering things in flash that would lead to that behavior?

When I google my problem, nothing even close comes up.

This is actually normal. Once the flash file retains focus any browser functions no longer work. I've noticed this when I was making flash. I would focus the flash file and try to use the browser functions like CTRL+T (new tab in FF) and it wouldn't work. It worked only when I clicked off the flash file.

oh whew! I thought i was screwing up. I guess I'll make my pages short enough to where that issue won't come into play. It's kinda strange though because I've managed to make my entire homepage keep it's scrollability in browsers. And it's 1500 px long with excellent scrollability.

Thanks for the reply Aero
